    hi guys..

i own bone stock 06 tungesten grey mustang GT 5-speed manual!

i went to byron dragway with chicagoland mustang against chicagoland srt-4 club and had a lot of fun..

i only got to do 3 passes all day. at byron i did the best stock 2005+ stang GT time and i was very happy with that!!!

i ran bone stock to air filter 13.6 @ 93.21 mph - 1.93 60' with missing a god damn gear.. as u see my trap is crappy cuz i missed a gear.. 4-5 cars before the finish line i tried 4th and missed it and i didnt bother to grab the gear again and i let the car roll till the finish line which gave me crappy trap.. at track people claimed if i wouldnt have missed gear, i would have been 13.4s with 103-104 trap.. but oh well still retty nice time..
that srt-4 was pretty good modded and i was on him untill i missed gear and he put his bumper on me.. he ran 13.63 and i ran 13.66 almost dead even. but after that he put slicks on and ran 12.7:eek:

the weather was over 80 dgrees and 87% huminidty at 750ft evolution and i have 18'' wheels.

here is my video (i have no idea who shot it.. i found it on club web site)

    here is the time slip:

Doodad, that is a pretty impressive run...at least it is to me. Looked like a damn good launch...not alot of tire spin and I didn't hear it getting bogged down either(obviously not with a 1.93 60' time)Here is my best run from the first time I took my '00 GT(manual)to the track. It was my 4th run of 6 that evening. The only mods I had done were Flowmaster Stage 3 mufflers and Eibach Sportline springs. It is interesting to see the time that the heavily modded SRT ran as well...makes me wonder more about the thread that was going on here about how those stock blown Cobalt guys were eatting up the new GT Stangs...LOL. Not once did I see them bragging about racing say a Lancer Evo...WRX STi. I would say those cars are much more our class than the Cobalt...

Tonight was my first time at the track as well.....

I ran at San Antonio Raceway, temp was about 80-83, with about 60% humidity....

    Best run:

    RT .6317
    60 2.1699
    330 6.0206
    1/8 9.1563@78.71
    1000 11.8397
    1/4 14.1200@98.53

The car's a stock automatic. I think this run I broke from 1500 with TCS and OD off.....

I got about 6 runs within an hour, managed a couple more tenths quicker with slower ET's trying different ways to launch. Any advice in that respect would be great!!!

Just a quick response on the cobalts. A friend of mine has on 06 SS Supercharged(bone stock) and runs mid 14's consistantly at the track, on multiple occasions - even with multiple drivers. My mustang ('06 and bone stock for the moment) will pull upper 13's consistantly and it's an auto. Sorry- I just don't even like the word "Cobalt" because I had hear so much about it from him before I acquired the 'stang - don't hear that much anymore.:owned:

    Nicely done doodad!!

Did you have to shift to 4th? I was under the impression that it wasn't necessary from a few articles I have read in some mustang rags. Although when they put the 4.10's they short shifted 3rd and still gained .2 seconds on their 1/4.

    thanks guys..

kooldg6: that is a good run man..are u auto or stick?

PDXstangdude: i didnt have to shift 4th. my first run was 14.0 with 100mpn trap and i finished the line on 3rd. but after that we started to talk wiith buddies how to gain more and somebody told me that these cars do not make power after 5800rpm and try 4th this time. and i said ok. i tired and missed it. you do not need to shift 4th..

i would like to mention with DRs i will be low 13s STOCK easily.. i would say around 13.2s with just intake-tune-DRs i am at high 12s.

about cobras, oh i know they are faster definetely but i beat some cobras times at track (even they had exhaust) they ran low 14s all day and i was WTF?!?!?!?! S/C does'nt like heat, so our cars!!!

You'll have to let me know next time you go to SAR. I've been wanting to go run my '06 for the first time, but haven't yet.

Doodad, my '00 was 5 spd manual.
I would like to get my car to the track sometime to see what she'll do with just the Flows added. Kinda curious as to what the difference would be between my previous and current Stang...

'00 GT, 5 spd manual, Flowmaster mufflers and Eibach Sportline springs
    vs.
'06 GT, 5 spd auto, Flowmaster mufflers

your 06 stang GT > 00 manual stang GT. from a dig or roll, you should be able to pull on him.. but not much like a car or so..
