Fixed vacuum leak, now bad idle

Do my car was running bad, when I looked under the hood I found 2 big vacuum leaks. I repaired the leaks, now what I start the car, it dies right away. Start it again, it dies right away. Then usually on the 3rd try it will stay on but idle will fluctuate from 500-750 or so, and after maybe 5 seconds it will settle down and run fine.

Does my car need to relearn idle? Any suggestions are appreciated.

use the surging idle checklist to re-set the idle.

you may try disconnecting the battery cables. touch them together for 15 seconds and let it sit for 15 min. then see how it runs when you start it again.

I changed the IAC and that fixed it, thanks guys..

seems IACs can be pains in the ass sooner or later.....ive had 2 crap out over the years
