Foglight brackets

When I went to the race track the other day with a friend that races his 91 Mustang GT, I asked him why he still had his foglight brackets on. He told me that they hold the front bumper onto the car.....if thats the case, how do you guys get rid of yours?

That's not the case. The brackets do not hold the bumper on.

Do they do anything besides hold on the foglights? Also, are they worth the delete?

I have mine in still. The brackets and bar are heavy, but I use my foglights

mines not heavy at all. weighs like 5 lbs

Your friend is somewhat correct, they are not the only thing that holds the bumper on. What the do, is stiffen the lower area of the front bumper (all three brackets combined do this). As far as deleting them, I do not know, I like the lights and at about 7lbs combined weight why risk the front bumper flexing.

I don't have mine anymore because I switched to a different fog light set-up and made my own bracket. The bumber itself is still fine although not at stiff at the bottom.

Yeah, its only a race car. Maybe the stiffness is worth 7 pounds.
