There is an organization that is one of the outfits recruiting people with Special Forces , SWAT, Police type backgrounds for compromised site security in Iraq. That kind of translates into armed perimeter defense , probably some dignitary protection ( not VIP types , but mid level) , all the way up to convoy escorts. Heres the GREAT part... 15 THOUSAND a month for a three month rotation. Taxes are taken , but food and shelter is supplied obviously, so if you have some military/ paramilitary training , Police , etc, they are interested in you. Naval Special Warfare and SWAT are of particular interest Im told. The criteria is a 3 month rotation, they will provide additional environmental and situational training for your field, including weapons training (refresher). Im told they do not want civilians that havent any formal training , so there is a background requirement. Uniforms, and weapons are provided ( Bushmaster Carbine and light assault rifles ) then off you go. 45 grand isnt a bad deal for 90 days. If the wife gives me the thumbs up, I may be gone a while :D . This is not protected under federal law, so your primary job is not required to release you and guarantee your position upon return ( like the National Guard) , so thats another issue. Anyway, if this sounds like something your interested in, hit me on pm. Ill put you in contact with the "recruiter".

Sounds similar to an offer we had (telecommunications) in the 70's to work in Iran. Promises of a big paycheck, only to find out that rent, food, etc. was more than you would've made.

I could see that happening back then, but I believe this may be an escrow type deal. Besides, modern law would castrate and burn alive any organization that pulled something like that now.
