Fuel pump question

Just installed a new stock fuel pump on my cleveland. It came as a 2V-2bbl, but It has the Eddy performer manifold and 1407 4bbl. I'm having problems getting this thing to idle. It was running perfectly before the fuel pump swap so I would assume that it would run just the same if not better. Well, it's actually running worse. I have to hold the gas pedal down to keep it idling.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you might of dislodged some crud when you swappped out the fuel pump and it is now stuck in the carb? Did you use teflon tape on the fittings? Maybe a piece of the tape got into your fuel line and is now clogging something in your carb?
