Huh? The 6 cylinder has been with the Mustang from the very beginning. In fact, the first production Mustang, a white convertible, was a 6 banger. Why do I feel like I'm missing something?

How many people here actually own a Foxbody 3.8? That'd be like complaining that Stangnet doesn't have a forum for the Foxbody 200ci. I6. Hell, there are still a crap load of SN V6es out there, but look how slow these forums have been for the past 3 years. The hard truth is that 6-cylinder Mustangs are only popular while they are somewhat new. There aren't a lot of inline 6 guys in the classic forum, and 6-cylinder classics are more common than 6-cylinder foxes.
"Slow" at least implies movement of some kind. Up until this week, I would say it's been more like "dead and buried" in here! Even my attempts to stir up the "V6 forums are dead" thread had no results.
Before you (by the comments I'm getting) V8 guys go on about how "dead" the forum is you are missing my point. when you say "V6 Mustang" everyone assumes that it is a post 1994 car "post Fox" My point is that the V6 cars are more than post-94 cars as the topic states, but the technologies (parts interchange-ability) are very similar and some parts will fit any year engine from 1983 to 2004. That is my point: headers from a 1998 will fit a fox , yet never listed as such crankshafts such as 3.8 supercoupe (forged) will fit in a NA block 4.2 truck parts will fit early flat tappet 3.8 blocks and so on. Its not how inactive a chat room may be.
I don't really see how I missed the point. As I've pointed out, there were also 200ci(3.3) inline-6 Fox bodies, but there's no place on Stangnet for them. The reason is there simply isn't enough demand for one. The fact that these forums are dead is totally relevant to this thread. The number of SN95 3.8 owners on Stangnet far excedes the number of Fox 3.8 owners; yet these forums remain dead. So how much traffic do you think a Fox 3.8 forum would get? You might as well lock yourself in a closet and talk to yourself, cause you'll get the same result. Besides, if you think the contents of these forums is all hardcore engine tech, you need to look again. The V6 forums have always been filled with exhaust threads and questions about sound systems, CAI's, or wheel sizes. There are other 3.8 V6 Mustang websites that are more technical based and include people who swap 3.8's into 2.3 foxes using the '80's engine mounts.
ok lets see let me spell it out 1:V6 domestic motor 3.8 1983-1986 than again 1994-2003 2:not a straight six or a foreign motor 3 the forum title is :" 94-04 V6 Mustang" 4 doesn't matter how dead this thread is it is either mis-named or no love for the early "V" 6'ers does this make my meaning a little clearer?

Not really. I'm not missing the point; you simply don't have one. The '94-'04 cars are A LOT more common than the Foxbody V6es. Hence the reason this forum caters to those model years. So basically I guess there is no love for the early V6es. There's your answer. Do you feel better? Look at the way Stangnet is broken down. It's by generation first, then by engine type. The only exception is the '94-'95 5.0 forum being a subsection of the 5.0 forums; but even that is a forum of it's own dedicated to SN95 cars. The classic forum caters to classics of all engines, as well as the Mustang II forums. It wouldn't make any sense to put up a forum that includes two generations just because the 3.8 was available for both. If that made any sense then there'd also have to be a 302 forum for all Mustangs from '68-'95 (excluding a couple years in the '70s). This is a forum for SN95-body cars with OBDII systems. I don't see how to explain it any simpler than that. I'm sure questions about early V6es will be welcomed in here, just don't expect Stangnet to change the name of the forum, that's ridiculous.
Like '66 said, there arent many people here who know a lot of technical stuff since this forum is basically just a gear/exhaust/cai discussion board. A lot of the V6 folks who were really into fixing up the 3.8 moved on to other sites. So if you want to know about gears, exhaust, or which cai you want to use, you're in the right place. Even if the forum title is changed to include all 6 cylinder engines available in the mustang, you'd still find the same useless information.
