what would be a good cam to get for my stock 79 302 to boost performance a little

The stock one. I would wait on a cam until you get better heads & intake set up. you will not meet the potential of a hotter cam with stock carb/intake & heads, it actually could hurt performance I believe. This is just my opinion though.

well im getting an after market intake to put a 4 barrel on it and getting the heads worked on as well

so do you think it would be better to get a intake 4 barrel carb and headers then instead of the intake carb combo with headers or intake carb combo with cam and head work
