70 will be perfect, even at 80 I get over 22mpg.

Most on these boards are running a 5spd though, but nonetheless important info. With that kind of RPMs at 80 with 3.73's, I would also think long and hard about 4.10's for an auto.

I know the highway will be a different story, but I know I'll pick up a couple mpg or so city just by the way the 4.10's feel. Barely into the throttle and it moves, and you can cruise at 1500 in 5th and its not bogging if you get on the gas a little. Plus, 1st & 2nd are just wicked compared to stock!

On my 3650, by my stock tach, in 5th gear, 75 mph = 2500 rpm. Not too much for me.

Absolutely. I would have been very disappointed if I had settled for the lesser 3.73 gear.

I've never really had good gas mileage, either.

I would much rather have a fun commute to work, rather than a not-so-fun commute to work, wishing I was driving the stang. Been there many times. So what did I ultimately do? Drive the stang.

4.10's and daily driving are deffinately do-able. So far, they are deffinately a more practical "city gear" by far. I love them.

I didn't change gears until recently and I really couldn't feel a lot of difference. 3:23 vs 3:73.

    My 04 is the beater.

    I've had a 4.0 ranger bought new in 97 (slow and sucked) , 2000 F-150 4x4 with the 5.4 (best of 15.8 mpg) had too many flaws, a Spec V 03 (fun car) high 14's and 33mpg sold to get the 04GT, a Free Geo Tracker ( 30 mpg and 4x4 ) and several Bobtail Bronco's 68, 69, 73 never as nice as LB0193's 76 Greeny:

What can I vouch for... there's nothing like driving a Stang. I laugh at snow... It's called Blizzaks.

What about salt? The coupe doesn't see any but the 04 has to take the lumps; that's life.

Fox in the garage, Fox 4 fighting in the jungle and loving every minute of it.

3.90's anyone? Had Motive 3.90's for 4 years now and still great. Sometimes I wish I got 4.10's and sometimes I wish I got 3.73's .... its all about where and how you drive. But 3.90's are a great middle point.
