You sir are an inspiration. I could never be so patient as you've been with this. I've only got two weeks in my current project (2 years if you count the cars entire span in my ownership) and already I'm itchy for results.
I think of how the 93 notch I owned for a while ran with the same setup you are going with, and all I can think is 'man all that work for no more power!!" but at the same time I can appreciate your cause. This is why I have an N/A 300zx for gas mileage and am building a 5.0 stang for fun. But hats off to you for your dedication to this project. The way you've handled what I've seen on here so far shows the true maturity of manhood that I am long away from. When I get to your point I will probably be fitting my 87 mustang with an electric motor or hydrogen powerplant or whatever they come up with to replace gas, but it will still be a mirror image of what you are doing now, only my efforts will be to make the car legal to drive at all :)

    Thanks !

I wish that I could work on it everyday. I work on Mustangs for a living so I kind of get my "fix" daily however it's not the same as getting to work on your own car.

Electric ? It has been thought about. Takes 6 to 7 large to convert, that is if you already own the car !

Posting Updates: Should it be a new post or a progress report ? I'm thinking if I start a new thread about the project, I would post updates to the thread from time to time. That way if someone sees the thread for the first time they would be able to understand what is going on.

Thanks for all the positive comments ya'll... Your a bunch better group of Guys than some other forums that I've visited.

Well I was referring to when I am 45, being 22 now, I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper in 23 years to buy an electric car and swap everything over :)

I appreciate the compliment and your depth of thought. An ignorant boy/man might have called me an idiot
We all want to see results daily when we work on something, that's where the "feel good", I did something feeling comes from.
I'm 46 now and do remember when I was your age and where my thinking level was. With age comes the opportunity to watch, learn, listen, accumulate knowledge. Always have an open mind. Think of the possibilities. In the short time that I've been on here I have learn many things about 2.3's. I don't know everything but am willing to listen and learn.
I had an epiphany one day not to many years ago and all of my accumulated knowledge started churning together. It got a whole lot easier to think automotive in the modified sense.
It doesn't matter wether you are building a fast 1/4 mile car, an electric car, or a milage car, the thought process are all the same.
A friend told me several years back that if you put your engine in a 8000 pound vehicle and it gets 10 miles to the gallon, if it is then installed in a 4000 pound car it will get 20 miles to the gallon. Simple fact of life (or physics that is). Weight is speed or milage !
Keep an open mind and never be arrogant and you will go a long way ! :)
