I have a 89 Gt that has a terrible rattle, metal to metal sound, it is non stop. Seems to be coming from the bellhousing area,it has a Ford racing clutch kit and adjustable cable kit. I also replaced the clutch fork and pivot ball when clutch was installed. It is not the typical TOB noise, it happens all the time clutch in or out, and increases with RPM. Can you bend the fingers on the pressure plate if the cable is adjusted wrong? I don't know what it could be, any help would be appreciated.

Does the noise go away when you are in gear and moving ? Reason I ask, my throw out bearing sometime continues to talk even when in neutral with the clutch pedal completely out (and it shouldn't), but when I start moving in gear the sound goes away. But if you have a louder metal to metal sound it must not be the T.O. bearing anyway. Maybe the flywheel has worked its way loose, any bad vibrations ?
