DO Ijust unplug the PCV valve or what. When I plug the hose running from the TB will my boost rise?

i would just take some 3/8 rubber vac caps, take out the line from the PCV to the intake manifold. plug both ports. this will render your PCV useless. so now we need to find a way for crankcase pressure to exit.
then take the line off that connects the TB and the oil filler neck. plug the TB port with a rubber cap.
now we need to vent the crankcase to atmosphere or have the engine pull on the crankcase a bit to get the vapors and pressure out.
they way i did it was just buy a clamp on breather and put it on my valve covers. its vents the crankcase, its the easier and works great, it solved my crankcase pressure problems.
or you can run a vac line from your oil filler neck, to in front of the blower.
and easy way to do this is buy a brass 3/8 NPT barb with a 3/8 vac nipple on the end (the vortech air shield should have one in it you can use). drill a hole in your powerpipe and use some silicone and thread the nipple into the power pipe. then run the 3/8 line from there to the oil filler neck port. this way the engine will pull on the crankcase even when under boost and will pull out and pressure or vapor and trash also. i ran mine like this before i ran open breathers.
try that and see what happens. also make sure the belt is tight.
but if your still running the car like in the first pic you posted, your pushing boost into the crankcase, boost is going from the TB line to the oill filler neck and that will affect boost levels. i pretty much did the same thing and it made less boost and i couldnt feel it until the higher rpms.
i think your problem lies there. i definatly think you should be making more than 5 psi. IMO its bleeding off somewhere.
see your power pipe looks alot different than mine. Mine has a port about the size of a quarter and thats it. It has no place to screw in a by-pass valve. See if you can find some pics for a PP for a Vortech S-trim. If anyone has a good pic of the Vortech UPR power pipe please post so I know if I hooked it up right. I might be missing out on some boost
yeah I did put it on backwards. But I dont know how I would get it to work. The port is like on the side and the bypass valve hole on the stock Vortech pipe is on the bottom. This will be hard to get to work. It is so cramped in there. Maybe thats why I didnt see any difference as far as boost goes.
i'd go ahead and cap off the PCV valve also. and cap the TB port and cap the port on the filler neck and buy the screw in breather. thats the easier way to do it.
