Congrats on the car :nice: Is it stock? I heard high 13's for stick (good driver) and low 14's with an auto for our cars (Stock). Hopefully soon we will race, we just have to find time on a weekend when were both free.

Yeah, I was the proud owner as of October 20, 2007 of this beauty, and yes it is stock....kinda wanna make the first few payments before i begin bolting her down. it was a pretty tuff choice, i have a 98 GT also with a head gasket problem but i couldnt find and clean PI motors so i decided to take my money and just get a whole new car...best decision yet. but yeah man, let me know how the race goes, ive driven the sn195 and honestly, i think you'll do good, especially if his is stock. best of luck to u .

Thanks man, I just hope it will be a close race and I hope to dip into the 13's. His car feels pretty strong, so far he added a Gibson exhaust, K&N CAI, and Steeda Tri-Ax shifter. Is yours an auto or 5 speed? What are you looking to do first when you get those first couple of payments out of the way?

I have a 5 speed. Im debating whether i should throw an exhaust kit on there (BBK o/r X and a Borla Catback or Magnaflow Catback). I dunno about headers yet, not really needed just yet. or lower it and throw some rims on there (eiback pro-kit, tokico shocks/struts and cc plates with some fr500 wheels) I might hold of until mid december until my winter break cause then i can work full time and maybe ill do it all at one time. But like u said, if a stock 5 speed can dip in the 13's, then thats a dam good driver. Ive had a mustang since i was pretty much 17 but i dunno if im capable of hittin the 13's. I feel i know my car dam well, but ive never ran in the quarter mile drags.

Oh...question....does ur hood kinda bounce on the highway, not so much to where its bad, but its just like a lil bit to where u notice it ?

That sounds good man, I would do gears for the first mod. Maybe 4:10's since you have a 5 speed, this will wake your car up a lot. If you do a lot of highway driving then 3.73's will do fine if 4:10's is too much for you. The lowest (03 stock mustang gt 5 speed) 1/4 mile time I read was 13.7, that is with a godley driver and perfect racing conditions, so our cars are capable of decent times being stock. As for the hood thing, I sometimes do notice my hood bounce, but rarely and when it does it's not that bad.

dam 13.7 is quick...but as far as gears, for now imma leave it stock, i like how she does on the highway, my 98 GT has 3.73 and was a beast on the street but was not quick on the highway...at all. and for now i wanna be a beast on the highway rather than the street.
