how much to cut off my springs

alright guys, i know this is not looked upon highly, but my brother and i are going to cut my springs when i get new rims. i am doing this just to hold me over until i can get some springs, hell, i might like it enough to just keep it until i get my tubular k member, tubular a arms, and coil overs. i just want to know how many coils to cut. any replies are hugely appreciated.

Cut them a quarter coil at a time then re-install them to check the ride height. Take it slow. It's easier to cut off a little more then to have to add material. And use a cut off disc or chop saw. They create the least about of heat because of how fast they can cut.

Cutting off one coil will give you about 1.25" or so drop. It should look perfect like that. I did it to my front springs, and I had it like that for over a year with out any problems. I would not go more than 1 coil though. Any more and you start asking for trouble.
