Start with a two bucket wash, one with soap, the other with just water to continuously clean your wash mitt. Then dry and claybar it. If its swirly, buff it before applying wax. My favorite wax at the moment is Pinnacle Signature Series II.

Very deep clean first. Two bucket wash with grit guards, foam gun, SM Arnold Lambs Wool wash mitt, bug sponge if needed, assortment of brushes including ones for the tires and the EZ Detail Brush for the inside of the wheels. I always dry my vehicles or clients vehicles with a backpack blower, followed up with a waffle weave from Pak Shak. Than onto claying, Poorboy's Clay is my pick. I use Meguiars M34 as my lube. Than, polish with M80 or Merzena, than a glaze, sealant, and wax. I like Poorboy's White Diamond and Black Hole glazes. I like Meguiars NXT, M21, Poorboy's EX or EX-P as sealants. As far as waxes goes, I've got a lot of favorites. Meguiars #16, Pinnacle Sovereign, Chemical Guys Pete's 53, Chemical Guys 5050, Natty's Red or Blue.

ive got polished aluminium gt rims on my lx they look pretty bad the guy who owned it before me never took care of them they are dull and after I washed them I think they got worse. I called the tire store and the guy said they wont polish up but i want a 2nd opinion any ideas. I was told that I would have to strip the clear coat off and re clear them but that sound expensive.

That's very true but there is a proper way for a full detail ...

    Wash
    Clay
    Paint Corrective Polish
    Polish and/or Glaze
    Sealant
    LSP
