HP in a stock v6

    The real answer is always NOT ENOUGH.. but yeah it's 190.

    yeah and I read somewhere (can't remember) it was something like 175 at the rear wheels??

    Yeah, IMO the 190 is about as reliable as the 25 HP new exhaust adds, or the 15 you get from a CAI.

    never trust the cook.

    the actual number is 193 at the crank, they picked up 3 hp in 01 vs. the 99 and 00 stangs. They changed something with the flow of the intake very slightly to give it the 3 extra hp I believe.

    so you can actually get from 193 to 200hp with a CAI?..

    I highly doubt it unless you have a really good one and even then I don't think it's possible. Mainly CAI are for show,not really go.

    The K&N FIPK for the 2003 V6 Mustang guarentees a 6HP increase to the rear wheels on a stock engine. They have dyno graphs on their site specifically for that engine.

    People always like to add a few hp's. I didn't go on the site, but you said stock engine, not stock car. Their test car could have had an exhaust added on and the engine would still be stock. Sorry, I don't really believe in CAIs.
