Alright guys...I've searched the forum and found a few answers, but I need a little bit more advice before I start ordering parts and put together my engine for my mini-stock race car.
First and Foremost I have rules that I have to abide by and of course everything else I want these to be somewhat affordable HP to Dollars spent kind of things.
Alright I have to have a stock exhaust manifold. Is it true that a manifold out of a Ranger 2.3 is better than the one out of a mustang? Is the Intake manifold any better on a Ranger or is it the same?(not allowed to use SVO parts either.
Flywheel..Rules state that I have to have a stock flywheel that weighs no more than 16 lbs. Now I have heard that Escort flywheels fit 2.3 engines and I was curious if this were true? oh and I am not allowed to modify the flywheel(drill holes etc...)
Alright on the pistons I need pistons that i can hook up to a Long-stroke(5.7)
the pistons have to be flat top. Now I would love to go all out with the Mahley's but $500 for 4 pistons..Is it worth it? Is the hp difference from Mahleys that much better than that of let's say Wiseco's flat tops?
Well that's all I am going to ask for now...but if you can think of any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it..
P.S. I'm already getting my counterbalances shaved on my crankshaft. so I know about this one already.
