do the gears and get a 75mm tb and a dragon plenum. you should hit 12's very easily. oh yeah get some tires.
The Mach's are a little underrated, but not 70hpjamin1t said:I've got an OT question. In 5.0 or Fast Fords this month, they did a comparision b/t a gt, mach 1, and cobra. They managed a 13.1 out of the mach 1. How is this possible with 280 rwhp when a lot of vortech charged gts run similar times with 70+ more hp?

I have done gear swaps MANY times. I am sooooo sorry I doubted you guys. Even though they arent 3.73s or 4.10s they are a HUGE improvement from the 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'TY 2.73s! I went down the road and i imedietly noticed I couldnt hold first at 20mph anymore..haha... I shifted to second and rolled up to 3grand where it starts making good boost and nailed it. usually it just goes, but she got SIDWAYS! I love it! 4th gear pulls harder than 2nd used to. I am gonna go to the track tomarrow I think and plant a firm 12.7 run I think! I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Cause two chambers only flow like 217 CFM where Magnaflow Bassani and others flow about 360 CFM. My tuner told me with a decent Catback my numbers would be well over 400rwhp but since I have a frankensteined 2.25" 2 chamber set up on mine it only made 396rwhp.BlackGT02' said:Ya.. Why would he need to get rid of his flows?
Drew1287 said:I went to the track last night with my headers on and my new spec stage 2 running perfectly. My best run previously was a 2.0 60ft was a 13.2 @106, Last night I managed a 1.9 60ft and a 13.2 at 106 also. I granny shifted cause of the new clutch though. My mods are:
Vortech V2sq with 3.12pully
Steeda Boost Pipe
FRPP Ceramic Coated Shorties
O/R Hpipe
Flowmaster Catback
Steeda Triax
Battery Rolocation Kit
I also had the front swaybar removed for the run.
What should my next mod be to get me into those 12s?

It takes practice getting a blown GT to hook up if you don't have slicks. Look at this guy...he's running low 13's with 2.73 gears and street tires! The gears alone should put in solidly in the 12's. Add some DR's and 1.6-1.7 60 ft's to that and he should run mid 12's.
With EVERY bit of driver skill available and PERFECT conditions a stock Mach 1 will run low 13's with a handful claiming high 12's. Add that perfect driver skill and perfect conditions and a blown GT should run mid 12's at the slowest, depending on his other mods.
I have to agree with him. Suspension is a major factor in these cars. Power means nothing if you can't put all of it down. But the Machs have a very soft and springy suspension. Part of the reason why LS1 cars are so nasty at the track is because of their suspension. Look at my time in the sig. Its all in the 60ft. If I had a 1.7 60ft pass I'd probably be in the 11s.blkgt714 said:
I am not a great driver by any means, nor were the conditions perfect when I raced my Mach.. Yet I manage to get low-mid 13's... A lot of you guys forget that you can have all the power in the world and not run good times because of suspension setups and not getting the power to the ground. Mach's have a very drag friendly suspension setup. Hell, I've seen stock Machs get sub 2.0 60 foot times on street tires.
But yah, driver skill has a big part.. However, it doesn't take a perfect driver to extract low 13's from a stock Mach. I'm living proof..
