I have a troubling problem with my ignition. I replaced the electric ignition switch yesterday and every thing worked great last night. Today I go too start my car and the key won't budge. I have now torn my dash apart and removed the new switch, the key still won't turn. So I went and got a new key made and graphite lubricant (dry) and still have no luck. I did get the door chime sound, while tapping the key with a screwdriver while it was in the ignition.

Any ideas? I was thinking of pulling the tumbler, but my chilton manual says I need to pull the steering wheel and drill a hole. Should I just call a locksmith?

I really am getting frustrated with this and need some input. I wanted to go to the local fun ford sunday this weekend, but might not make it if I don't get this resolved. Thanks for any help.

Not to point out the very obvious, but the steering wheel isnt locked is it? Turning it a little one way or the other, holding it, and turning the key doesnt help?

I wonder if you have binding linkage.........
