Need some help from the stereo gods--my 66 has a plain jane Sony tape deck in the glove box. Lately, it has developed the bad habit of occasionally when the stereo is turned off, emmiting a piercing shriek as it powers down. It is so loud it makes my ears ring. Is this some kind of feedback or power spike or just a heads up to get a new stereo? Thanks! --Paul
That, my friend, is a tell-tale sign of a radio in need of upgrading! Aww yeah, tape decks have almost gone the way of the Do-Do. It's time for a CD Player man!
Pale-- I know, I know. At least it isn't an 8-track with a cassette adapter. (Remember those?) I don't use the tape deck as all of my music is on my iPod. Still, I was hoping not to have to upgrade for awhile as the summer has brought the following Blown head gasket on Mustang in May AC out on VW in June AC out on Toyota Truck in June (Our only operational vehicle during this time was the sturdy old Mustang!) Alternator out on Toyota Truck in July I was hoping to let my coffers refill a bit! Well, what the hell. What should I get? I really need something that will fit in the glove box and has an audio in so I can plug in my iPod. Advice, y'all? --P
