I think that's flawed logic...there are plenty of possible vibration noise sources on any car and just because
YOUR e-brake wasn't noisy
YET doesn't mean that someone else isn't experiencing the problem or that you might not experience it in the future.
If the problem didn't exist MGW wouldn't have come up with a fix.
I experienced vibration noise with my Hurst then after installing the MGW it starting vibrating badly as well. It sounded like it was coming from the shifter or the handle, and I could grab the knob and it seemed to reduce the noise somewhat. In reality it turned out to be the e-brake handle vibrating LOUDLY at high RPMs. I installed the Dynamat MGW fix and the vibration noise completely went away.
I think with a short throw shifter vibration is more easily transmitted through the transmission hump and console to the brake handle (due to poly bushings and/or less flexible design as w/ the MGW) and it's more of a problem; just my theory.
Anyway, the vibration wasn't caused by the shifter
or installer!
