I am looking to possibly purchase this particular 06 Gt but the drab interior is killing me. They call it deluxe (my ass), its just plain plastic unlike the premium which looks awesome IMO. Anyway, does UPR offer quality items? I like this piece to replace the hidious stock unit 05-09 Mustang Automatic Handle Covers If I can bling up the interior some I might purchase this car. Living on an island has its downfalls......like when looking for a decent used car! patrick
I can't speak for UPR's interior items, but their "performance" items have a bit of a bad reputation. Silver Horse Racing has some very high quality items for the interior. American Muscle and other web vendors like them carry quite a few SHR items, along with other manufacturers bling mods.

Silver Horse Racing has awesome products! I've got almost everything they make/sell! Of course my "bling" style is black, so everything I have is black anodized! The TCI shifter is a great way to get rid of that tacky plastic OEM shifter, but Casey4s took it a few steps further and crafted his own handles for the TCI shifter...look him up and see for yourself
Now we're talking. That looks awesome and actually does something. I went and drove the car again today. This time with the TC off. It felt much better this time around. It has a Spin Tech exhaust system on it, including x midpipes. I could not see the cats. I read where they come with four......didnt see any. It sounds really good.....has a mild drone but not overbearing. Tips out the back are nice sized and polished. Is spin tech worth a **** or garbage? Cell phone pic of the 06 GT I might buy. patrick
Well spintech apparently made mufflers for motorsports use since the 80's so they can't be complete trash. The 05+ Mustangs only came with two cats, one for each side and they are tucked in below the collector on the headers If you didn't see them and the light wasn't on this car has a tune or at the very least MIL eliminators. That's something you may want to check into because it could pose some issues.
Good to know. I cant say I really inspected that close to the collectors. I was thinking they would be somewhere right before the x pipe. Is there a way to check if a car has a tune? The tranny shifted WOT into second at 6k rpms and was not a hard shift at all. I drove an 96 with a superchips tune and it spun the tires going into second....felt really good and strong. Had a broken odometor so God only knows how many miles above 107k it really had. Can a tuner turn off the cat sensors? My tuner for my vipertruck was able to do that. While the car has an incredibly boring interior, with only 16k miles and a price 2k below blue book.....I may purchase it. Thanks again for that link to TCI. The cats are definitely before the X pipe but they're at an angle with the midpipe coming down from the engine compartment so they aren't visible from your average ear to the ground visual inspection. One way I'd check if the car has a tune (though not necessarily true) is to see if the car has an aftermarket intake. These cars will REQUIRE a tune if you put a CAI or they will lean out, going into failsafe or worse detonating really bad. A tuner will allow you to switch off the cats without giving you a CEL. That's what tipped me off at first, though there is always the option to add MIL eliminators to prevent the light.
Car has a stock airbox......no CAI. I was looking from the gound at the back of the car. So it sounds like I couldnt see them and I could not smell that nasty smell you get with a catless setup. I am starting to get excited about this car. There is so much aftermarket for it. patrick
So you should man Mustangs have always had a killer aftermarket support. The S197 has now been out for a while and there seems to be no end in sight in the development of parts for it.

I like some of the MGW stuff MGW LTD., INC. - CNC Machined and Turned Parts. Accessories for the Corvette, Mustang, and Viper. I have one of the outlet plugs and also the seat lever buckles. They look awesome! Lots of people get cup holder bezels but I haven't fallen in love with one yet. Right now I have the Silverhorse one sitting in there but have not actually attached it in place yet. Would also suggest the floor mats from American Muscle. Really high quality.
+1 I used the black rhino ramps you get from wally world to install my shifter. It helped A LOT especially if you scoot down head first from the front of the car you'll have all the clearance you need safely.
No sh#t!! That looks scary IMO. I have the ramps for the shifter and oil changes. How difficult is installing headers on a mustang? Obviously you need to get the car up or have a lift.....but otherwise is it a serious pain? patrick
The car /jack stands were fine... There were a few moments where quite a bit of force was exerted and it stayed still It's definitely not a job for those who second guess their abilities a lot! Once you start...you're into it! We spent way too long, but they were on in one day! Having a lift is ideal. Also removing the entire K member would make it even easier. Some parts of it were exsasperating while trying to get the right angle and not cramp up while working, but it wasn't horrible. I know if I did it again, I would use a lift or pay somebody else...
Kooldawgs interior is almost all black and black anodized and is awsome. I went th other way and added some blingie stuff to brighten it up some. That is waht is so cool aboput these cars is that there is a lot of ways to express your personal tastes. Oh and did somebody say "TCI Shifter" I love this thing... it looks cooler than the factory shifter, and makes shifting this car without having to look at the shifter so much easier. Now if we could just find a black chrome (or anodized) version for Kooldawgs car.
Thanks, Man! Likewise, yours looks really good with the bling being light colored We even switched air vents to better suit our tastes...he had black vents and I had the silver. Too bad he didn't have the black steering wheel pieces...those would've been swapped also! I'd love to have the TCI in black
