saw this on my news, local ny, long island crash, it really sucks http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/ny-lifata0727,0,3357453.story?coll=ny-top-headlines wow Wreckage from the scene of a head-on crash involving a Suffolk County police car and a Ford Mustang driven by Gabriel Bergianti, 27, of 32 Williams St. in Port Jefferson Station. The two cars collided as the police officer was chasing after motorcyclists who had been reported speeding. Bergianti later died at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. Police said that Sixth Precinct police Officer Robert Falisi was responding to a call of 15 motorcycles speeding on Route 25A in the Miller Place area when he saw some of the motorcycles traveling westbound on Route 25A in Mount Sinai, the police said. As Falisi entered the intersection of Route 347 and Hallock Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, he collided with Bergianti. Officer Falisi was taken to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson where he was treated for lacerations to his arm and other minor injuries and released.
HOLY ****ING ****! OMG that is the WORST scenario i've ever seen.......I suggest a moment of silence for those involved in the accident.
RIP Gabriel RIP Fox Convertible there is something seriously wrong if the officer entered the intersection at a high enough rate of speed to do that much damage
Not that the guy on the bike should have been evading police, but why the hell chase a bike through town? Unreal.......
he had to be a rookie.. I say had cause his gona loose his job after this... the guy wasnt evading there was just a report of bikes speeding.. omg people on bikes speed..??
This is why it's a law to pull over for emergency vehicles with their lights on. It was a head on collision, so the 2 cars were headed towards each other. It was at night, so if the cop had his lights on, the mustang would have easily seen them and should have pulled over like you're supposed to. He probably just kept driving like most people do because the law doesn't apply to everyone Especially if you're in a rush. I say all this assuming the cop had his lights on. If he didn't, that's different. I agree that the cop shouldn't try and chase bikes, but he was just responding to a call, which is his job.
that car is messed up. That would be a ****ty way to die. Minding your own business and wham, your done.
sorry blackened, can't say you are absolutely wrong, but put your flame suit on.......IMO it is way too early to be casting blame.
The same thing happened to me on LI in suffolk county. A cop came out of a side street rite threw a lite on Sunrise Hwy and plowed into the quarter panel of my 81 Pontiac. He was totally at fault!!
Oh, you mean casting blame like everyone saying the cop is an idiot, a rookie, and he's gonna get fired? Like I said, things would be different if the cop didn't have his lights on. But ASSUMING he did, he was not in the wrong.
local crash by me a few days ago in si, some 17 year old jerk kid in amustang with nos was up a civics ass, sprayed it and smash right into the back of the civic cutting through it like nothing killing a 17 yearold girl in the back seat, damn shame
