Hi
I recently blew a hole in a piston and cracked another.. I also toasted the clutch...

What a day!!

Would like so comments about parts I am going to buy.... beside repair the short block ( I am taking it somewhere to be checked out)!!
Suggestions on these or similar parts. Replacing valve covers because I am using stockers with double gaskets and they leak slightly etc. I know I have several clutches on here but can't make up my mind.. My last dyno says 485rwhp and 488 torque.
Don't want to talk price necessarily but decent quality stuff

that ford racing gasket kit is a good one. It took me alot of searching to find out what comes in that kit and its all good stuff that i needed. 9333-pt head gaskets that work great with boost and 1250 intake gaskets. are you running head studs?
 
I would send the Centerforce back. That's just a stock replacement clutch. It's not going to be worth a damn if you put any sort of power in the car. I bought one back when I didn't know any better, and it made two passes in the car before it came out the clutch fork hole in a pile of dust. Then I called Centerforce to complain and they said that there clutch was for smoother engagement, not for modified cars, and that the pressure plate was just a factory replacement.

Ok What are you using now??

Have rethought clutches and came up with 2 more possibilities..

Anyone have any experience with twin clutches. Haven't been happy with my spec 2+ and CYN-R-G flywheel seems like it slips at the track all the time. Leaning toward the Fidanza...

I know a few people here have complained about the quality of Fidanza. I have never used one personally, but apparently they use almost all Chinese components. I use SPEC 4+, and I have been happy with it. I've used a SPEC 3 in the past, and it was also decent. The 4 is the same as the 3, but with a solid hub for quicker engagement. The + is a full faced clutch which gives you a higher torque rating and a smoother engagement, but it cost more. I upgraded to the 4+ when I broke my input shaft and decided to go to a 28 spline input shaft. I am very happy with SPEC customer service. I've have known a few people who have used Mcleod and been happy, but their customer service sucks. Those guys always seem to be out racing when I need a clutch. RAM makes a decent clutch for the money too, but I haven't used one.

You don't need a twin disk clutch, it's total overkill. Couldn't tell you anything about the Fidanza, but I know people who have used the Mcleod, and it binds up.
