I had seen an ad in the local paper for a 78 T-top mustang 3 weeks went by and I bit. The lady on the phone said it did not run. I went to see it last nite. Pretty rough, but it comes with a truckfull of spare parts. A complete set of x-tra glass--good hatch--cobra hood--an x-tra 8" rear and 2 or 3 sets of mags(man I hate the word mags) I mean slots( hate that one too) OK ,wheels!Oh did I mention a header panel and 2 front fenders? The car origianally had a v-6 and was changed over to a 302. I have no time to work on it but was thinking about buying it to sit on for a while till I had time. I got him down from $ 1000.00 to $ 600.00. What do you guys think? I am really wrestling with this one. Anyone want to talk me out of it?? I would appreciate it. ( as would my wife) Thanks in advance. Matt
what year is the 302 in there from, the one I bought turned out to have an 83 bronco 302 and needs a header panel, let me know, maybe we could work something out, please all the girls( i own two stangs- girlfriend ok for now, not that happy though)
He wanted $ 1000.00 for it with a 289, $600.00 without the engine.Trans had a big bell on it and the tunnel was clubbed to hell & back. *UPDATE* called last nite, it was sold. But now I found an 80 muzzy that is straight with 80,000 miles! I know it is not a II but parts are easy to find.
I'ld buy that puppy, and slap a new boss 302 create motor in it. The boss is reasonably priced and they will run, I put a boss 302 in a 70 mavrick, with a top loader 4-speed, 4:11 gears, fabbed headers, lakewood traction bars and 50's on the rear it ran the 1/4 in 12.90. The motor was factory stock.
I have another 347 stroker sitting in my garage . Called about the 80 stang but he wanted too much for it.
