So I Like the look of the mach 1's, and always planned on giving my v6 a sort of mach 1 look. I just let a OEM mach 1 rear spoiler slip through my fingers on ebay, so i was looking for some opinions.

Do you think a standard Black OEM spoiler will give the same effect as the matte black mach 1 spoiler? Is it the matte that gives it that look, I can't decide?

In terms of the honeycomb trim panel. Do you think it's necessary to get the v6 panel? I don't want to pretend my car is something it's not (when i see obvious v6's driving around with cobra bumpers i die a little inside), but the v6 logo squeezed into the GT shape just doesn't seem to look good from the pictures i've seen. Think I should just get the GT version?

So obviously this is all based on opinion...just wondering what other people think. discuss!

i think u can buy the honeycomb without any logo on it so that always an option. as for the spoiler, it depends on which type u get. my 2000 spoiler def would not look good but i know 2002 at least had one that was more of a wing. if u got that one i think the black wud look good. as for other mach 1 mods, i think a grill delete makes the car stand out and a fake scoop looks good too(ive got both of those). chin spoilers also give an aggresive look

What I would do if I were going for the Mach I look:

    -Chin spoiler
    -Grille delete
-99 35th Anniversary Edition Hood decal(should be flat black)
    -Flat black GT hood scoop
    -Flat black spoiler
-Your idea of the honeycomb rear is good.
-Black Tri-bar decal for the bottom of the sides.

As for wheels I would think the Bullitts would look as vintage as the Mach I wheels, so it'd be a toss up between those.

Hey V6muscle, do you happen to know where you saw the honeycomb without the logo at all....that would be the ultimate solution for that.

I'm not really going for a reproduction of the mach 1, just taking the parts I like and trying to roll with it.

So '66, you think I should hold out for a matte black spoiler? I have a late model silver 03, so I ended up with the cobra reverse hood and can't use a scoop, but I like the idea of putting a black scoop on. I was thinking of either getting the black vinyl insert for the recessed area on my hood, or going with a carbon fiber hood, think that might look good with the silver/black thing i got going.

Thanks for the input guys..it sucks that I finally have some money to spend on it and now I can't decide what I want.

u know now that i said that i cant find it anywhere.. i was almost positive i saw it on some website, if i come across it il let u know. but dont let the money burn a hole in ur pocket.. find out exactly what it is that u want and then go for it.. carbon fiber looks good but thats $$$ and ur not going to be able to put a scoop on that either unless u go with reds ides and get the shaker system. i also forgot to add this before, if u want a classic mach 1 look get rear window louvers, those r niceee

That or or it might be easier to just paint the stock spoiler with a flat black paint. Might want to do it to a junkyard spoiler, just so you can store yours.

    I don't know what I'd do trying to make a '99 Cobra hood work on a Mach I theme.

Damn, $800!!! Save up the other $4200 and get your 32v 4.6 you want. :p :D
