my car is so low that it bottoms out on EVERYTHING :fuss: I love the stance, but the whole underside gets raped on a daily basis....

posted in tech a while ago about a crushed catalytic converter because of too many speed bump scrapes....the cat finally gave out and the innards broke into peices and sounded like i had heavy bolts and nuts just banging around in my exhaust. Some large pieces finally managed to work their way out of my exhaust tips during dail driving and when i reved the car a little.

just replaced the cats with SLP's straight pipes....i guess its back to an offroad midpipe for a while :D

I guess that's what happens with Sportlines and no isolators.

I know how you feel man, SLP has my x-pipe friggin low. I knew that if it were to keep on scraping bad after i lowered my car last month i'd have to try O/R H in Cali:nono: Luckily w/ C-Springs i only really get scraping on some speedbumps at the college parking lots. I know the route to drive around now there tho. But driveways still suck - my chin spoiler has seen better days

Anyone else picture that Nascar commercial for Sportscenter when that guy is chipping away at the speed bump?

My car isn't really lowered, other than the bullitt springs, but I can't go over a speed bump straight, the front will drop down and hit the plastic "mud flaps" and it sounds HORRIBLE... I gave up, and just go sideways, one wheel at a time, and have yet to have a problem, plus I don't have to go as slow.

Ouch, sorry to hear about your cats, at least I got a lesson on what the cats look like on the inside. Now with your O/R you won't scrape and your car must be sound even more mean.

I know how you feel.My Mac catted h pipe is now a cough, cough FAKE catted h pipe.Sportlines + city driving = :bang: .But for me that is the only thing that gets the abuse (and that is taking it easy too),nothing else gets harmmed.

Holy crap man that is really bad, my H pipe barely scrapes at the speed bumps at school cause they are these tall humps, but other than that nothing.

You guys should have the stupid bullitt mudflaps! They hit on almost every speedbump and sound horrible.

I know if i had a Bullitt,i would remove those front portions of the squirting, cut those molded mud flaps off, then fill them in,and have them repainted by a body shop.It would look sick and flow more smoothly,i think anyways, plus be free of unwanted targets to damage them when the Bullitts are lowered.Just a thought! :D

Yea, but in doing that, you take away part of the car that is unique, it's the only mustang that has them. Just my .02

it really sucked. especially seeing bits and pieces of catalytic converter coming out of my exhaust pipes... and to think i wanted the car to be even a little lower up front.

i feel ya! i love how our cars look just parked or crusing down a smooth surface being that slammed.

at least my car is back to being its normal loud ass self though :rlaugh:
