Will someone slap some sense into me. I don't plan on drag racing, but my next stang will be built into a road racer for the street, full suspension, etc....to handle the twisties, plus some bolt-ons for power. So why would I be even considering an auto................this just seems like such a good deal for around here...

Watcha guys think? Keep looking for 5spd, cuz 5spds have all the fun?

Road racing would be boring with an auto. I dont think an auto would handle the abuse of constantly up/downshifting that would be happening when blasting through the twisties and corners. Manual would be more durable IMO, seems like the only reason they die is from being powershifted and grinding the crap out of gears.

for road racing, you do want a manual no doubt. you can do a manual valve body on an automatic, but with 1 less gear and a wider ratio, it wouldn't be worth it IMO. now that doesn't mean you can't carve carners on the street with an auto.

Its like I know I want a stick...driving a stick is just so much fun....even though I spend mornings in bumper to bumper traffic. Besides, you have so much more control over how much "noise" you make once it gets an exhaust makeover.

I'm just so tempted cuz there's so many more autos for sale, and they seem to go for a cheaper price. But patience is the key.
