the cap on my master cylinder leaks out fluid a little bit. there is usually always a light coating on the reservoir. no bad leaking or anything tho. the level is correct

is this normal?

i have 6k miles. but i am pretty hard on brakes. stop/go city 80% time

Mine is mostly freeway mileage, but the MC is always clean.... I can't imagine that "it's supposed to leak", especially at 6k! I have 33k on my 03 and its clean as a whistle...

I would take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

just curious if you ever got this fixed. I'm having the same problem.

Wipe the fluid off and forget it. I test master cylinders at work and this is acutually more common of fords that you would think. It all comes from the people at the plants bitching because the caps are too hard for them to get off, so they redesigned them to be lesser compression fit so they leak.
