Hey guys just thought id show off my intake and decal to go with it but 1 question comes to mind ' i want some opinions here .

Was wondering if its a good idea to slap on the intake with a 65mm tb without the heads cause i cant afford heads at the moment ' or should i wait till i get some heads for my set up'

Ill be porting the lower part of the intake. The car is pretty much stock at the moment.

The intake and T/B will provide a slight increase in HP, but you really should add a bigger mass air meter with it.

Personally, I would not want to do the work twice.
    Hold off.

I did the same thing. I just put on my explorer intake and now I am doing HCI plus rings and bearings and clutch, etc, etc. I didn't mind waiting on the heads. It took a year for me between the explorer and this rebuild so why not.
Oh and I put on a 70mm TB and MAF at the same time as the intake.

I say slap it on now if the heads are going to be like August, Sept, Oct.

I say hold off it the heads are going to be like later this month/next month.

Id hold off, ive had a cobra intake sitting around for a year now that ive polished, Now ive got heads, and putting together the short block and utting all the new stuff on at once. YOu wont see alot of gains from just the intake/throttle body.

I got some decent gains with just the intake/65mm TB on stock heads.

The biggest difference was response after 2500RPM. With the Cobra it pulled harder.

Granted it isn't a huge diff, but it's noticable.

However if the heads are coming soon, just wait. Then it will be one hell of a kick in the pants when you do it all together

It takes a little longer than 45 minutes lol, I installed my Cobra intake and 6 months later I installed myGT40P heads. If you are not going to do heads for a while I would install the intake, you will feel a difference.

If you've done it before, swapping an intake is no big deal and doesn't take long at all. I'd go for it.
