need help diagnosing a few things

well the first thing is that im getting a whine, wa,wa,wa,wa, I think coming from the differential,it is most prevalent on acceleration at about 30 MPH, when im on the highway the wine is not as pronounced but just seems like a lot of vibration.the other thing is that the steering wheel seems to have a lot of play up and down,is there a bearing in the column?

For the steering column, if you remove the column cover shrouds and MF switch, IIRC there are a couple of fasteners you can tighten. I did it some years back and it removed a lot of slop. I removed the fasteners and put threadlock on them, then put them in tight.

yea i would tighten the two bolts on the clolumn underneith the turn signal but regards to the wa wa wa and vibration i would change the u joints and change the diff oil just to eliminate thos posabilatys hope that helps
