I finally got my 2.3T convertable home, like that last thread said, and it was in better shape than i expected. Other than the usualy used car tune up(plugs, fluids, etc) i can find only two real things that bother me. One is the subframe connectors, apparently put on by a college student, don't look like the best job ever. The other problem is a future performance dilema, which ive been thinking about. The top mount intercooler seems bigger than normal(i dunno really), but the hood i have(cobra R w/ scoops) doesn't have any holes in the right places to get enough air to the thing. In short, is it gonna be ultimatly cheaper to buy and paint an SVO hood, or just do a front mount?
An SVO hood won't fit on your car...they are different. Get a front mount. Use only Motorcraft tune up parts. Gap the plugs to .032".
"cheaper" and svo don't go together too well. If it looks bigger than normal its probably one from a TC, which is what is on the green coupe. I've had good luck with it having trailored it to the track and kept ice on it the entire time other than it at least needs a heat sheild like the svo's had stock. I stumbled upon one of my greatest(simplest) ideas for performance out of a 2.3 so far. I'll let you know if it works or I'm a jackass. Bring the car to sumerduck this thursday, I think I may finally have the car working like it should and I'll get to make some hard runs on slicks.
Would have loved to go to the track with you 351, but both Tyler and I are stuck here at school until it lets out on the 30th. We are deffinately gonna meet up with you at carlisle or over the summer though.
That guy is a friend of mine and notched86, he has a bunch of cool stuff. He loves 2.3's (dont know why), but i still like him.
Its a "friend" of yours funny, another post says you own the 383 car. You have at least stopped talking ****....Now lets ease out of the lies and everything will be great. Edit: If "he" likes 2.3s then he should set $1000 asside and "he" should build one.
Hey 351wcoupe...i have two 2.3's. i have a '90 and a '92. i'm sell ing the 90 if any one is interested
351w, KoolAid4cyl is NOT 65' Plymouth. I know both of these guys personally, and I'm good friends with tvinson86 also. KoolAid4cyl has been my best buddy since the 5th grade, and we first got into 2.3's and 2.3T's together years ago reading MikeSVOr's site, stinger's site, and stangnet. Now we both own two 4 banger mustangs, lol. Hopefully Ben (KoolAid4cyl) will have a donor car, or at least a motor this summer. His black '92 is REALLY nice, perfect for a swap. And I talked to Belvedere383 (aka 65' Plymouth) and he promised to stop talking smack about 2.3's, at least on the forums. But we all need to meet up sometime this summer at the track or your house, and do some kind of "fun run".
That post was directed towards the difference of 383 and 65plymouth. Its good to see so many 2.3ers popped up at once and cloe to here. Maybe after I get this green coupe running we can get you guys all turboed and make a stand against the high numbers of turboed people of kansas.
I wouldn't annouce it too loud since tvinson has a 'vert and my coupe is still slow. We won't have much of a representation.
