I will probably do the same to be safe the e cam was also my choice lift wise both heads and cam is on my list which will be a big part of my budget ...

If you have not bought anything yet then you might want to reconsider.

If you are SD and plan to stay SD (at least for a time) there are better cams.

I had to 'cheat' to make SD work with the E cam.

Comp cams XE270HR14 has been recommended to me as well involving no clearance issues ...my point is do this without either fly cutting the pistons or changing them out which in my mind would involve overhaul as well

Did you go aftermarket ECU or an A9L?

I did my mass air conversion with a Ford Motorsports kit that included the mass air ECU. It was an A9S.
