yup, I am pretty well convinced that a lowered car with rake, larger rear tire, SHR painted flush quarter window louvers, black wheels, and the GT500 rear spoiler are the way to go. Is this right, or do I just spend too much time on stangnet?
Lowering is a very nice appearance mod...fills up the wheel well etc...but is not helpful for dragracing. Mate of mine who has a great looking lowered black stang (ETs in mid 11s), is having to revert back to stock height to further his ET goals.
Yeah, it seems there is always some price to pay or sacrifice that is made in order to reach your main goal. Mine is 90%+ for looks.
Here's a great comparison shot of mine up against another lowered (not as much) Stang. Plus the lower front fascia difference between the GT500 and Roush. With no other changes made, the GT500 front sat .5" lower than my old GT fascia with the CDC Classic Chin Spoiler.
Also another performance sacrifice I made was going with such a huge rear tire. I know it kills me out on the street (surprisingly it can still chirp 3rd gear), but for me, that's where the looks are played and I have the MT ET Streets for the track.
