Some crappy pics here. The guy came to my house to do it, which was nice of him. All the snow melted a few days ago, then it rained, and the street sweepers were out yesterday. Kept to the main road and ran to the wash, then stopped at a school on the way back. Couldn't really drive around to find a good location because I didn't want to find any piles of salt. Anyway, looks much better now! 35% drops and 15% rear.
I paid a guy that works at a local tint shop $100 to come to my house and do it on the side. You can expect $100-$200 for a good quality job. I was going to do 5% out back at first, but it's useless at night. This is perfect, IMO. I can still clearly see out.
thats the only thing i'm worried about is night vision. the side tint is illegal here, so i'm kinda skeptical about it, considering if all looks good tax return time i'll have illegal exhaust too haha, and i don't want to give them too many reasons to pull me over. they told me a hundred bucks to do my rear window at the local shop. i was gunna get it done but with my work sched they don't have any openings right now. so i figured i'd wait. i wonder how this gt logo would look on this cap for the rear of your car with the chrome ring like your actual gas cap.
That's on my list, actually. SHR makes a fully plain one. I'll probably get around to that in the late spring. tint on the sides is illegal here, too, that's why I went with 35%. I figure if the cop can still see in, they'll be less likely to give me a ticket. But, 90% of the time, I have my windows down when I'm driving it, unless I get caught in the rain. Oh, and my exhaust is illegal.
Tint looks good. I'm surprised it took you this long to do it !! Damn, that sucks that tint is illegal. I don't know what I'd do without my tint in Florida sun ... I've got 5% all around plus 35% on the windshield.
yeah i couldn't find a picture of a plain one. i'm at work right now so i gotta be speedy hahah. home computers on the fritz. thats exactly why i was gunna go with 35 %. i think your persuading me to do the tint sat morning find a tint shop. getting payed tomorrow haha. i have my windows down 90% of the time too. i'll have em down on my way home from work tonight i remember with my probe, no heating or air conditioning so in the rain the windows got fogged up so i had to have the windows down in the rain. getting soaked. hahahah. whats your exhaust set up? i was gunna go with long tubes offroad prochamber and mac axleback. it should have a decent roar to it but not too overbearing where a cop knows its illegal. unless i'm WOT.
Right now I have Magnaflows and off-road H, though I'll probably be putting long tubes on next month.
whats the tint laws down there? one of my bosses went down there and said everyone was getting pulled over for tint. i couldn't imagine not having tint in florida though. suns killer. especially with leather seats.
What !? I rarely ever see anyone ever get a ticket for tint in Florida. LE is understanding because they know how hot and messed up car interiors can get without tint. The only time I see people get tint tickets is when the LEO is actually cutting them a break and not witting them for something else. I actually had a FHP officer pull me over for speeding. Let me measure my own tint on my car for chits and giggles. The guy thought it was funny and said he could guess the percentage. The meter said 2% and he guessed 3%. We both laughed about it, he complimented me on my car, and we both went on our way. I didn't get a speeding ticket either.
Tint is big time illegal here. I understand why and won't go there. Looks good. Where did you get that GT emblem on the seat belt. I think that would look great on a gas cap. I don't recall seeing that particular emblem anywhere.
tint is only legal in Maine with a State authorized certificate. I think mine is somewhere between 35-40% with 5% sunshade in the front. with the gray interior you can still see in during the day but ta night you can't. which is nice too.
Tint really tightens up the look on that car. Nice work. What did you do with the shr louvers? Are they tinted at all?
Nope, I figured tinting the rest would make them appear darker. SilverHorse Racing will be sending me a splitter, rear medallion, stripes, and a few other goodies soon.
the tint looks good, i just got my moleskin yesterday from tint protectors, here in texas the legal % is 35 on the front windows. my car is torch red also, so now I know what my car will look like with 35% tint.
Looks good Dark, I just got my illinois exemption, been getting pulled over in my daily driver, so I travelled the path of a medical exepmtion for the WT logo'd plates and doctors sign off. Just submitted the registration on Monday, now I can as dark as I want. Even the windshield should I choose.
28% is legal limit down here on the front roll down windows.....it's a hit and a miss as far as cops writing citations for illegal tint. I personally have 5% on all my vehicles and love it. Night driving doesn't bother me only because i've gotten used to it over the years.
Oh yeah, I installed Moleskin, too. Forgot about that. The tint guy had never heard of it before. FYI, when you pull your door panels back to install the moleskin, leave it that way to get the tint done. Much easier for the tint guy to put the tint on. My drops took 5 minutes apiece.
