Will 255s fit ok on my stock rims? I was going to do a complete rim and tire change in the spring but decided I will save the $520, spend it on cams and a HPS hardball intake.

with ease, make sure they are 255/40's, not 255/45's. Good choice! love the stock look N E ways

I've been running a 275x40 out back since the first tire change in 2001 with no problems.

So 275s are ok on 17x8 rims? If thats the case I will run 245s up front and 275s out back.

yeah they are OK but will bulge out a bit.

255/45 should be fine, its not far from stock tire size unlike 255/40.

then your speedometer is slightly off

    stock 245/45 height =25.68"
    255/40 height =25.72"
    255/45 height =26.04"

the 255/40 more accurately represents the stock tire height.

Yes, I run 245x45 up front with the 275x40 out back, both on 17x8 rims. I have since my first tire change in 2001 with no problems. They do bulge slightly, but I like the look. From the side the profile is very close to the 245x45 but they look slightly "meatier" from the back.

1994-1995 Cobras come factory stock with 255/45/17's in their 17x8 wheels

Any other 17x8 wheel ford decided to use 245/45/17

    Weird i guess
