I read on another forum where a guy replaced his door weather stripping ( the weather stripping across the top of the door) with '08 model year strips which are different. It does not scratch the window tint and it installs in about 20 minutes. You do have to partially lift the door panel off to install it. I think it was like $50.

    Here are the part #'s

You can also just apply moleskin to the existing strips. But thanks for the part numbers. It's always good to know how to do it with factory parts.

Because they are FORD:rlaugh: If you try to buy the ones for the '05-'07 they still give you the old version that scratch tint.
Hey Bigcat, I thought you needed a bushing or 2.

ford just needs to supercede the old part numbers with these new ones. hopefully they are simply waiting until stock runs out for the old and then will supercede the part #.

i am waiting to be able to get the car up on the lift and check over everything 100%. want to be sure whats wrong with everything under there before i mess with it. it wont be until after Christmas that i can get it on the lift and examine it. :(

This isn't just a problem with factory tint. It's any tint. If you don't put moleskin on, you will eventually get scratches in your tint. The new weather strips have some type of moleskin built in.

I think you missed the point I was attempting to convey, albeit a bit facetiously - that the moleskin was not a priority for Ford (hence the 3 years to get it) – further, Ford could care less, as it is not their problem at the factory. It is “our” problem since we put aftermarket tint on them, and that is what is being scratched up. I haven't heard anyone complain of any problems with the OEM trim on 05-07 scratching their windows w/o tint ... :nice:
