I hit the gas and I get up to around 4k and the exhaust just farts and pops and the car refuses to go any higher (either rpm or downshifting). I have to get out of it for fear of doom.

Wait 10min and all is well. I can get on it and I blast off no matter what.

Lesson learned.

Or is there something else a foot?

It's not a good idea in general. You could possibly crack your block too. Cold block + super hot cylinders = disaster. Just be easy on it and let your car warm up first and then have fun

It's my first time with a superhcarged car so it's a learning process for me.

Obviously it did not behave like this when it was stock. So it's why I post the ocassional "um..." questions or comments, heh.

Check your source of gas... there are only a few stations I can get gas from without getting pinging... need true 93 at least. Shop around.

Make sure your tcs is off too. The streets are cold and what I found was that I was losing straight line traction and the TCS would come on causing the same issue your experiencing. When it engages it acts like a low level rev limiter and it sounds extremely bad..

I now have the tcs shut off permanantly in my tune.

Yah I got that before the supercharger as well. And I should clarify when it was cold, not when it was warmed up.

I never had that when the car was warm, back fire or pop at operating temperature is generally in the tune.

Mine does the same when its been sitting over night or for more then a few hours with my SCT Tune on both 87 and 91. I have to warm up the car before I drive or it will backfire.

Same here. But it does usually only happen when it hasn't warmed up yet like the others have said. I personally think it sounds like cool

Well ill warm it up real good and try again, but im pretty sure i have tried it after a long drive.

I use Chevron 87. Ill try some 89 and 91 to see if the problem goes away.

I noticed that since the mufflers are in the back they will pop and sound like backfire until they warm up, happens with the stockers and the JBAs.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure I shot flames the other day...it was the loudest pop I've heard come from my car and I thought there was a flash behind me lol. I have straight thru mufflers and no cats so who knows
