    I'm only 38.

Ask Scott how many engines alone!
As for me, how about buying a second Saleen to restore using the parts from my first Saleen rebuild. Then build the first one back again as a track car. Talk about insane!

I totalled up the receipts two years ago. Cash out of my pocket was in the 40's counting what I paid for the car. I worked on alot of other peoples cars to pay for parts and I buy and sell alot of stuff so real money would be more. The motor in the car now alone has 10K in it. Total between myself and the previous owner would come close to 200K. A few people here know what the car ran like when I got the car! It was an insane ride! BTW I was not married when I bought the car and the soon to be wife doesn't really know!

You NEVER add up the receipts... And NEVER tell the wife about them either!!!

Otherwise, she'll do something like order the license plate that was on my previous car:

Well let's see I just dropped 7k on my car in the last 4 months. 10k in suspension, 7k in wheels and tires, 7k in paint, 6k in interior and stereo, 4k in engine mods exhaust ect. And my motors not even built yet either. And that's going to be around 10k. So 41ish at the most as of right now. And that's not including the purchase of the car. Also not including all the alignment and corner weighting and such. Wow that is depressing thinking about that. Kinda wish I had that money right now. Like I said I still need the motor built and fuel system upgraded. Oh this is gunna get pricey.

lets see, bought the car in may of 2004 for $25000:

winter of 2004: $8500 for custom stereo and alarm
winter of 2005: $9000 for polished procharger p1sc-2 and all supporting mods
winter of 2006: $13000 for built motor, fox lake heads, upgraded rails and lines, etc.
winter of 2007: no price yet: meth injection kit, bigger t/b, fpdm upgrade, fuel hat mod

only being able to drive the car in summer and enjoying every compliment I get on the car: PRICELESS!!

Hey no problem, that's not even including the blower swap and such.. You still doing good, the built motor will be the best thing for both of us though.

Awesome. A 331 stoker, my friend is doing the same thing to his car and it was about the same cost. I wish that building a modular motor was the much. Like I said before it's pretty much going to clean me out, or possibly a loan...
