can anyone tell me how a panhard rod upgrade will help? I'm not lowered nor intend on lowering my car but many times people at the track have said I should add one to my car with stock suspension but can't tell me why... any ideas?
If you're staying stock ride height upgrading the bar itself shouldn't do much. If anything the brace will add a bit of rigidity to your rear suspension but that's about it.
a panhard alone will not do much for your car. it can stiffen the side to side movement a bit, but with the rest of the factory parts under there, you would never notice.
It won't do much, if anything for you at the strip. A panhard rod controls side to side motion of the axle. You should already have one on your car.
LCA are a great mod and I don't know dollar for dollar! They made all the difference in the world and I'm hoping that the Roush upper control arm and brace make the same difference. I have the LCA on with the relocation brackets and they did help out but with the LCA and the UCA everyone is saying that I need a Pan Hard but no one at my local track offered any intelligent reason why..... That's why I turned to Stangnet, I haven't gotten mislead here yet in the many years I have been reading and posting here!
I agree on changing out the panhard brace, but if you're not lowering your car, swapping out panhard bars won;t really do anything, but cost you $150. The main reason we swap out to an adjustable panhard bar is due to lowering the car and the OEM non adjustable bar will push the rear end out the driver side if it's enough drop (generally more than 1") and/or you have wide tires wheels out back and you'll notice the tire to fender difference. The panhard bar attaches to the frame on the passenger side and to the axle housing on the driver side. When you lower the car (actually raising the suspension), it lessens the angle of the bar which pushes the axle housing towards the driver side. An adjustable panhard bar allows you to shorten the length and recenter the axle housing.
Thanks all. This is exactly what I thought but since I heard it so many times I just wanted to ask before I dismissed this as people thinking the more money you put into your car the better it is. I hate that almost as much as hearing people use "ricer math" at the track.
