Sounds like your door lock actuator is frozen. You can take it out and use your door locks manualy or you can replace them and you might be able to use your power locks again.

Yup sounds like the actuator. It is at the bottom of the door under the latch. You can take it out and lube the screw up with a good penatrant and if you get it freed up then lube it with white lithium and reinstall or else get a new one.

Agreed with all the advice here. And Steve is right on about how to attack a new actuator. I did the Jrichker retrofit, as have many others. Figure less than an hour to do it. That saved money in your pocket will feel good.

He will probably see this thread and post the link. If not, it's on his webpage.

    Good luck.

    As requested...

Follow this link to fix your door lock actuator problems http://jrichker.stangnet.com/Mustang_tech/door_actuator_fix/1_of_8_door_actuator.htm

Stuck with door lock actuators that don't work and don't want to pay the $50+ for a new one? Tried the junkyard ones and found that they last six months and freeze up?

A new actuator for less than $4. Fix one side for $17, do both sides for only $23. I don't sell parts, I don’t make any money off of the upgrade, I just tell you how to do it cheaply and easily.
