Paxton track times, not very impressed, VIDEO too!

ok first i'll give you my old slip, this was before the s/c.
the old times were at a much better 1/4 track the new ones are at my local not so nice 1/8 track. let me know what i'm doing wrong here. i have some tire spin, not a lot, bbut i cant leave the line hard at all!

before s/c
60 ft 2.1324
330 ft 5.8879
1/8 et 8.9511
1/8 mph 80.59
1/4 et 13.82
1/4 mph 101.19

after s/c
60 ft 2.1764
330 ft 5.8086
1/8 et 8.7391
1/8 mph 84.99
1/4 et n/a
1/4 mph n/a

the 60 ft time is worse and the 330 is almost the same!!:bang: this is what $4500 got me!:bang:

Just gatta work at puting that power down man.... i would think the novi benefits more at a longer track... this is your first runs with the blower on and lemmy tell ya... i used to drive a Blown GT Novi 1000 (360hp 370Tq) and i could barely break into 13's (13.9) because i suck at driving... i dont goto the track much... at all... all it needs is practice man im sure you can tell a difference in power going NA to blown (duh) so its just a matter of time and practice.

if all else fails ill switch you cars and you can have an NA GT back if you want? Who needs a blower anyways :D

i've got some MT street et radials on the way and some weld pro star rims to put em on. now if i can just find time to install those axles and locker i might put down some better times at the 1/4 next friday. i think it will do better in the 1/4. on the road 3rd and 4th are the strongest gears, and i should be almost topping out 4th at the end of the 1/4.

I can see one problem if your sig if your sig is correct.

you are running 3.27 gears.. centi. superchargers like high rpm's I would go minium 3.73's but I recomend 4.10's and correct for traction loss with your slicks..

and if you run out of gear once you improve your driving buy a taller slick.

So to sum it up I think your biggest problem esp. on a 1/8 mile track is that you are spending too much time below 4000 rpm's

BTW... where is the track data..

to compare slips from different tracks and differnt days you need the following info.

1. track altitude

2. temp/ humidity/ baro presure

with that info you can corret the times to take the weather and altitude out of the picture. then you know what you are really running.

ok well from now on can you collect weather data and the track altitude.. then you will get a better idea of whats going on..

weather alone can swing the times a few tenths either way.

here is a good example..

the time in my sig was ran with a da number of under 100

I went to the track a week later and could not crack 100 mph, I keep wondering what was wrong because it felt nice and cool out but my times were 2 tenths slower and I was loosing MPH...

well when I went to run the data I got a ver high da number. the combination of slightly high humdity and very very low baro presure is what the different was..

a [email protected] I ran that day corrected to a 13.7@101 it would have been my best for this car if the weather was better.

Weather can do alot as mike said..I seen crab cars run like crap during the day but at night they really start to wake up..You have the power but just making it get to the ground seems like might be one of ur bigst problems..

Don't worry about it. The best I could run my first time with the KB was a 13.4@109. I eventually got it down to 12.6, on street tires. I know it can do low 12s. The more hp/tq you're making, the harder it is to put to the ground effectively.

perfect example. all it takes is practice & learning the combo. & also, that heat & humidity is not very friendly to your times, especially without an intercooler

youll do better on the 1/4. i can tell just with heads and cams that 3rd and 4th are my best gears too. yours are much stronger and continue to excell the longer you have those gears in the power range of the blower.

with the 1/4 (like mentioned above) you will have longer time in the higher rpm's in the higher gears. that is where the centri will come alive.

practice can always help.

You ran the 1/8th afterwards and you're comparing two different datas?

If i were you i wouldn't worry about it until you hit up another 1/4 mile and get a Trap Speeds and then compare times
