First Time Out With Drag Car...results Inside

Thanks. but with the 1.7 Jesel shaft mount rockers, the lift is actually .731 Intake and .715 exhaust...lol
That's almost a 3/4 race cam.

A friend of mine found a video of my 2nd 1/4 mile pass on You Tube. I don;t know who took the video, but thanks. It is all I have right now. The angle of the video is not optimal. The car spun on the launch and I only had a 1.48 60' but it still went over 158 mph with a 8.98 ET.

... I need that hookup for sure. I just redneckitized a m90 onto my car...... lol I have a shed full of "tools" my idea of a slight adjustment is a 5 pound sledge.:O_o:

No seriously.
"The hook-up" Lol...If you call $100 per hr for the engineering, blue prints and fab work "the hook-up" then sure.

Here is the thing though. All of the engineering has already been done. The program for the manifolds is saved in the computer. It is a lot cheaper to make the second set than the original. So it is not like you are shelling out $10K for one off work. I already did that. You get the benefit of all of the R&D that I had to pay for for free!

So here are some pictures of the custom work being done.

These two water fittings for the inter-cooler, custom made from scratch. Not something you can buy off of the shelf. Lots of hrs in those.

You can see the mock-up of the inlet in this picture above. The white paper represents the throttle body.

So as you can see, there was some very serious custom work being done by some not so cheap equipment. So yes, it cost an arm and a leg, and maybe part of the other leg, but I believe the results speak for themselves.

Awesome machine!

I run the Fox Body Saleen group page and would love to share this car, what serial number/bumper number is it?

Tremendous work, usually they road race but the Fox is king at the strip!

Truly great to see it competing!

Cheers!

I guess it's a good thing to be the only guy where everybody knows what I like, and don't like ( who else can you say that about that here?)
But,......

What in the hell is there NOT to like about your car?

For the record, I really like a high dollar, tigged masterpiece like what you have here. The thought, planning, design and craftsmanship is like something you'd expect to see from NASA.

Great car.

Just keep it between the cement fences so you can enjoy your hard work.

Thank You very much. Coming from you, I take it as a great compliment. I may not comment about your projects much, but I am envious of the work that you do without having to "farm it out". I wish I had the facilities and time and skills to perform some of the custom fabrication that you do. I was fortunate enough to be able to consult with a couple of engineers with a background in going very very fast to get this set-up optimized with the parts that I had collected. I am not sure which I enjoyed more, the design/build or actually driving the car at almost 160 mph. Both were very satisfying, although the design/build part did have some hair pulling frustrating aspects to it. So far the driving has been nothing but cake...Lol.Thanks again.

Very nicely done! The forethought, engineering and fabrication to make this work is truly easy to understate and you are quite modest in doing so. This isn't a feat for the faint of heart and yet you make it look so easy! Great results for your first time out especially on a 26x8.5 tire!
I would be super curious to know what kind of inlet temps you saw with the 2.8 and what kind of boost you are making? Have you had the car on the dyno to get some power figures yet?
I can't wait to see where you go from here
