The .45 Colt wasn't anything to shake a fist at. I would gladly trade any Sig for a true Colt 1911.

Me too!! They are way more relyable. Plus a lot more punch to stop a person. That's the whole reason why they changed from the 9mm to the 40 is because the 9mm wasn't doing anything to stop people..

Well, the old joke we had with our 45's was if you were
really in trouble, just throw the Colt and clips at the bad guy and
he would probably end up shooting himself first before
    loading it properly.

It seemed like many of our weapons saw service during WWII and
operating in a saltwater environment kept the GM's very busy doing pms on the Colts all the time.
When they worked, they were great, but when they didn't, they were
    just another lump of metal.

I think that was pretty much the case with all the weapons of the world at that time. I don't think it wasn't till the advent of the AK-47 that a weapon could be more accurate and reliable the dirtier it got.

On a side note, a 9mm is worthless. Nice target round, but nothing for stopping power. I'd like to stop an advancing taget with 1-2 shots, rather then 5.

I definatly agree!! Great for target but worthless for stoping power. Although I would take a H&K 45 other anything right now.. the Navy SEALS use them!! Kick ass gun.
