Have you run the VIN to see if it's been wrecked? The front headlight and the fact the airbag on the steering wheel looks like it was grey painted over with black makes me wonder. Just looking out for you.
I agree. $4000, if you want something to work on and make nice for yourself. (I'd "lowball" him too, for $3500. )
no the VIN has not been run yet...honestly carfax never pulls up any wrecks, didnt on my 95 and didn't on my mach and the 95 was almost totalled. as for price, the guy is offering it to me for 4800, coming down from his listed price of 5200 As for selling for profit, i prob wont, but who knows, im in the market for a 93-95 cobra black interior and black exterior. yes i did just get the GTS but that car is actually going to be put up for sale once i get the side skirts back from being painted. the red 95 that i have is also going to be sold too. those two cars i intended to buy and sell for a profit so thats what ill be doing. as for the paintjob, im not too worried, the car is located in my hometown where the majority of labor is outsourced to south of the border and i can get a 5k paintjob done for about 1-2k more or less. i really dont know what i want to do at this point, i really want a black cobra but i dont want to shell out the 7-8k that i've seen them going for. as far as the interior is concerned its just dusty looks like nothing 4 hours and some meguiars wont fix
i'd say offer him like 4300 or so and meet him inbetween at 4500. if you really want it. some interior parts look kinda faded, such as the airbag. i'd find out whats going with the left corner light though, looks like it was held on by tape or something. i'd point out the fact you want a black one, so in order for this car to be worth it to you, you would repaint it. i would think that this car would hold value alot better then any GT would so in a way i can kinda see this would be worth putting the money into it. just looking at those pictures its kinda uninspiring. i also don't like the wire wrapped around the strut tower bar. looks like he half assed it, and seeing that, makes me wonder what else he did half ass.
Only because its a Cobra, i'd say $4500. But if you don't care much about the exclusivity of an SVT, you could find a GT in much better shape for the same amount or less.
If it runs good, offer him $4500. If he takes it, have the car painted black for 1-2g's and you'll have your black Cobra with matching interior. Problem solved.
Except that the seats look shot, so throw in another ~$800 for some seats to bring the interior back to par...
