prep/paint/install hood

    paint both sides of the hood is 4.3 hrs. replace the hood is 1.2 hrs. if the hood is fiberglass and needs alot of prep to make it acceptable, could be a couple more hours of work.

    the local rate here is $46/hr. you also need to factor in paint supplies, which i believe is $28/refinish hour.

    basically after you have your hood painted and labor added in you're looking at about 1600 dollars. Which is why you see so many bodykits on raggedy ass cars unpainted.

    Make sure that hood sits out in the sun a few days or the shop that preps and paints it heat treats it. You should expect to $600 or more to paint and clearcoat that hood.
