Protecting your cement

Home supply stores sell large square plastic liners designed to sit under washing machines in the event of a leak in order to save the floor. The one that I bought at Home Depot for our house was kind of thin. When I decided later to get one for the garage, I found one at Lowe's that was a lot thicker and heavier. I think they run ~$20.

Plastic sheating works well, What i did was roll the edgesthat were on the concrete and then put sand on the edges off the concrete, this allowed the oil to drain off to the side into the sand. Also you can drive over this, it will never drain through to the bottom, and it is easily moved for jacks etc. I've used cardboard in the past too, but I came up with this when i was in a situation similar to yours.
