OK, here's the deal...I can find a ported upper and lower intake from an 86-93 mustang. I would assume it would fit on a '95 also, or am I wrong? The upper intake has been port matched to a 65mm Throttly Body, almost to a 70mm...can I use it with my stock TB? The lower intake has been port matched to a 1250 Fel Pro Gasket...will they fit my stock heads.

Summary: I can get a stock 86-93 upper and lower intake that have been ported; I am wondering if it will fit my 95 GT with stock heads and stock TB. Will it be worth it in the power department? I can get them for pretty cheap...both for under 100 bucks...should I do it?Thanks.

Both for under $100 AND ported!!!!! Do it!! To answer your qestions, with an 87-93' intake, you're going to have to get the elbow extension for it to fit SN95's. Yes, it will work with your stock TB, and it should work with your heads. No reason why it shouldn't if its only mildly ported.

the 1250 is a significantly larger port than the factory intake port. I'd look at port matching the intake ports once you have it apart. JMO

    BackDraft50,

You didn't say if your car still has its stock hood.

If it does, the 93 and earlier intake will NOT FIT under your stock hood!

It's too tall. That's why the 94 and 95 Mustang 5.0s use the intake from a 5.0 Thunderbird. It's lower and fits under the stock hood.

    That's BS. It'll fit fine.
I have a same height GT-40 from an 88 Fox on my 95, & it fits fine. Doesn't even touch the hood insulation.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that it will fit under the hood. Why would it be any taller than the SN-95 versions? I'd say go for it BackDraft, but you'll need an elbow adapter that sells for like $90 or something on Summit. And your stock throttle body will work fine. But if you have the funds, swap your throttle body too while you're at it.

I'm not gonna say it will or won't, but the Cobra upper intakes are different - the 94-95 uppers are lower profile. Rio5.0 put an Explorer on his 95 and then a 93 Cobra upper - find him see if he has an anftermarket hood, I can't remember but I think he does. At any rate, I'm sure he measured it and has an anwer for you.

Yes it will fit....I ran the Explorer set-up with my stock hood including the blanket...its just cleared by a 1/4"...you could look down the fender and see the hood wasn't bulged from hitting... If the Fox stock upper is the same height as an Explorer??? that I dont know...I was also running the elbow on the Ex set-up...whether there would be a problem with a Fox TB set-up with the stock hood is another question....the elbow does work tho...

I did swap on an Cobra R hood....I believe the 93 Cobra would also clear the stock hood, pretty sure I checked that even though i was swapping it out....the Explorer seems the higher of all of the Ford uppers...

BTW...if your in need of an adapter I have one for cheap money....I even ported the mother to a Fox 65 TB...

i would buy it anyways, and if the upper dosent clear you could just use the ported lower with your current stock upper
