This is for those of us who enjoy racing.

Which do you like to do more with your mustang? Or which would you rather do?

Road racing could consist of anything like vintage racing, autocross, etc, something with corners and pavement I suppose. If you don't want to vote under this category just vote as other and specify

For me, I like all forms in certain circumstances but my car will eventually be setup to be competent on a road racing enviroment, autocross, etc. I'd love to do rally but I neither have the balls to take a RWD, solid axle, non-lsd car onto a rally course nor do I want to risk wrapping it around a tree.

Major props to anyone who would do/does rally!

If you want to vote based on what you do in your other cars that's fine but specify what car it is.

    :)

Since there are no Road Racing course anywhere around here, I tend to be more of a fan of Drag Racing. I find it easier to convert a car back and forth from street to Drag than it is to convert from street to road race.

Anyone with a pair of drag radials can drag race safely. You can't exactly approach road racing with the same attitude.

I voted Drag Racing for the same reason, no tracks close. Gotta drive 5 hrs to do it, not happening.

If I had one close by though I would prob change my setup to do it.

What about autocross? They have to have those pretty close, they're all over the place.

my first love of racing was road racing, and to me there is nothing better than a car that responds crisply when you turn into a corner, and is easily controllable accelerating off the corner. a good road race car will be competent on any track of any form of racing.

I don't think that my definition of road racing is that same as everyone else's ;)

really tho, If i had the choice and opportunity, I'd choose road racing. its like what rbohm said, I love hitting those back country roads and just feeling that car handle the curves. Plus, i think it wuold be a bit more challenging.

What would that be? Street racing? Haha. Honestly, for lack of a better term, I can't think of anything else to describe "road type racing."

road racing is an old term. it comes from the days in europe, and the US, when many racing events were held on public roads. they would map the roads and make a workable closed course that they would race on for the day, then open it back up to the public when the race was over. since it was a public road, it was called road racing, and the name stuck to any race where there were both left and right turns. this includes, but is not limited to autocross, slalom, pro touring, the automobile version of the tour de france, etc. daytona has a road course built into the oval track and it is obvious once you know what to look for.

Road Racing! All the skills come into play. I even used to open-track the SCJ! Now THAT was a hoot.....

Now with the Cobra, it's a passion. I also instruct that too. Really gives your brain & all parts of your car a work-out.

I prefer dragging at this stage of life as it's way less expensive. I mean your only on it for less that 15 sec's in a straight line. I just couldn't afford having to replace rotor's, pads, tires after every race and all the wear and tear that comes w/ road racing. Plus it's only $20 to race for 4 hrs at the local drag strip. Road Atlanta wants that $300 for one session...You road race guys must be making bank!!! Hats off to yeah...:nice:

I like all 3 forms of racing. Each is cool in its own way. Around here I prefer drag racing because thats just what we do. There is a dragway nearby. There isn't really any access to the other forms of racing in this area.
