Ok so I have searched for days and I am going to assume I am using the wrong terms. Anyway I just got another foxbody and the owner had did a grand marquis aod swap in it so he said. Anyway the aods shifter is now reversed, meaning 1st is Park, and Park is 1st. I dont mind this @ all as I will be getting holcombs sports plate to add a quarter stick shifter. My question is, is this considered a fwd pattern ,or reverse pattern shifter... I've never seen this before and honestly I am stumped!!

Shifter cable is prob hooked up wrong. ALL automatic trans have Park set at full forward position.

The PO prob hooked the cable up incorrectly since he prob use the column shift cable. Hard to say without looking under the car

thats what I was thinking I am going to crawl under there and check it out. I am only assuming that it has the original shift linkage pointing down rather then up. In any event is there any harm keeping it this way?
