I was curious how it might go up to say 120?I just had it tuned and put down 404/428.Feels real strong but vettes always intimidate me.
So you want 520 HP or so? Go 600 just to be safe, Me thinks you should contact MPH Mustangs, Kenne belle 2.2, Forged guts, and 20 pnds boost! Maybe even twin turbos...
Already working on it.I am dealing with a local vendor for MMR and am planning on the 900 shortblock. Then will either upgrade to the 2.2 or just add a little NOS to top it off.
a buddy of mine just bought a c6 zo6... nice car but i dont care much for the noise it makes... sounds very harsh and raspy... but thats just my opinion, others love the sound... quick though !!! EDGE
I finally got to race a c6 last wednesday and it didnt turn out to be much of a race...I was going about 135, looked in my mirror and saw that the corvette was about 7 or 8 cars back trying to catch up... It was fun though..
What kind of power are you making on 10lbs?I have seen guys making more HP than me on 9lbs.Even with the eaton m90 and chicane pulley I was only at 333/348.I am hoping after I add the forged SB,heads and cams I can get close to 500/500 on pump gas.
My car doesnt make that much power...It only made 366rwhp and 392rwtq but it only shows its making 5lbs of boost...The block is in its break in period so they didnt tune it hard...I am finally past the break in miles but now I dont have any money to get it tuned with the 14 lb pulley...
That would be about right for a stock C6. If it were a ZO6 bearing down on you it wouldhave been a different story. I agree. You should be putting down some highers nums with the KB 1.7. Awesome blower for the money. Once you get past your safe tune and double your boost you will be really happy.
I raced a C6 Z06 the other day several times and put no less than 10 cars on him running up to around 170 MPH in the '05. The car definitely gets good traction, though. It was a struggle to stay with him down low because of how well the car hooked-up. BTW The guy down the street from me (the guy that also has a S7) blew his C6 Z06 with 800 miles on it (melted the piston) - not too impressive IMO.
Billy, I want to get this straight. You pulled 10 car lengths on a new 06 ZO6 up to 170mph in your 3 valve Vortech blown car??? I have driven a handful of 91 octane tune sct blown 3 valves here, with the new t trim and I didn't see that kind of power. One was running 11 lbs. Just want to make sure I read your post correct.
I call BS on both of you that said you pulled LENGTHS on a C6 Z06. I have seen a couple at the track BONE STOCK trapping 125 and running high 11's. No way a blown 10lbs 2V or a blown HEAVY 05-06 will pull a new Z06.
well if your calling me a liar well you can ask the C6 that got his ass kicked... I never said I raced a Z06 for one thing and why would i lie about racing a damn car? Am I trying to impress anyone? NO...I am just answering the guys question..I just cant wait till the car has the 14lb. pulley and the 150 shot of gas...Then you can call BS again... My compression is 8.5:1 and my gas is 93oct.
Looking on the surface you have a valid observation. However, there are many factors that come into play on each individual race: 1. Driver skill level 2. 130 more rwhp to the ground (stock Z06 = 427 RWHP; my '05 = 558 RWHP on 91 octane gas) - this factor is irrelevant if you can't drive the car 3. Tires, tires, tires 4. Gearing Weekly, I race cars that have 700-800 rwhp and beat them because of the reasons above, exluding #2, and reason #1 and #3 being the biggest factors. Pure HP doesn't dictate how fast a car is, but can give an idea. Ultimately, it is how the entire car and driver work together. There are plenty of 9 second cars in this world with 14 second drivers........
